Payroll Deductions in Canada: CPP, EI and Income Tax Explained — JCO tax tip card

Every payday, your employer must withhold 3 things: CPP, EI, and income tax. Employers match your CPP and pay 1.4× your EI premium — yes, having you on the team costs them extra too! 🤝

📊 2026 CRA quick facts: • CPP: 5.95% of earnings up to $74,600 (max $4,230.45) • EI: 1.63% of insurable earnings up to $68,900 (max $1,123.07) • Income tax: withheld using CRA's T4032 tables or PDOC calculator

Once you hit the yearly max, deductions stop — over-deducting is a CRA no-no! ⚠️
