Our own system

JCO Books

I couldn’t find an accounting system that worked the way my clients’ businesses actually work — so I built one.

JCO Books is the accounting system I built for the firm: a proper double-entry core, written for freelancers and small businesses in the Philippines and Canada, and priced the way I believe software should be — our partner bookkeepers use it free.

JCO Books client workspace
Client workspacesBuilt firm-first: many clients, each with their own clean set of books.
  • Double-entry core — real accounting underneath, not a spreadsheet with ambitions.
  • Firm-first design — many clients, one calm workspace; my partners at Jimmy J’s Bookkeeping Center run their practice on it.
  • Philippines + Canada — one system that understands both homes of the firm.
  • Modern sign-in — passkeys supported, and receipt capture that reads documents on-device.
“As a first-time user of an accounting system, JCO Books completely exceeded my expectations. It is remarkably user-friendly, highly accurate, and best of all, comes with no subscription fees.”
— Maja, CEO, Little Hands Learning and Development Center
